Safety

FRANLIS III

Our M/S Franlis 3 sails under the supervision of the Shipping Inspection Services and must observe very strict safety regulations.  Each year, the ship is checked for its seaworthiness.  The engine, the nautical equipment, the fire extinguishers, the first-aid kit and the life-saving equipment are also subjected to a strict inspection.

The life-saving equipment consists of life jackets, life buoys, inflatable rafts and floating devices that are equipped for more passengers than the maximum number of passengers allowed on our boat. After approval, a certificate of seaworthiness for passenger ships with a limited sailing area is delivered.  A copy of this document is posted on the ship.

A licensed crew obligatorily consists of 1 captain, 1 mechanic and 1 able-bodied seaman minimally.

Small pleasure yachts are not subject to this inspection and these regulations and can therefore not guarantee complete safety for their passengers.
